Blaze had a very close friend named Ezalb Yelof. The pair were so inseparable that people would ocassionally mistake Ezalb for Blaze and vice-versa.

Well, Ezalb was very active in the cardboard and marker mediums and created many striking abstract pieces, being something of an abstraction himself. This is unsubstantiated, but Peter Max appears to have been an influence in his work.
