Blaze in the News:
- BLAZE-O-RAMA! October 17, 2008 at Ruta Maya in south Austin, Texas. Blaze-o-rama presents a great lineup of musicians and the event will benefit Front Steps, which manages the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH). A signed copy of Sybil Rosen's new book, Living the Woods in a Tree (see below), will be one of the many items in the silent auction. Archival videotaped performances by Blaze from 1983 and 1987 will be shown, along with excerpts from the documentary.
- Living in the Woods in a Tree: Remembering Blaze Foley, a memoir by Sybil Rosen of her time with Blaze and their lives apart, has been released by the University of North Texas Press as part of their "North Texas Lives of Musicians" series. Sybil was Blaze's muse in the 1970s when Blaze was transitioning from being a musician in bands in rural Georgia to being a songwriter. It's a bittersweet tale of love and longing and provides great insight into Blaze's creative soul.
